Work
- Currently building at Boost, where I work on purpose-led projects with a compassionate team who are building a better future for New Zealand public.
- I work across the entire tech stack to bring ideas to life, from conceptualization to deployment, I enjoy every part of it.
- I'm currently working on a renewed legislation site for the New Zealand public that will bring ease of access to the public.
- More details to come...
Values
- Empathy and Whanaungatanga - I put people and relationships first. Success is measured by how much I help others and learn from them. Empathy guides me to write clean, thoughtful code.
- Curiosity and Continuous Learning - there is so much I still don't know and the wonder of learning and discovering new things is what keeps me going.
Toolbox
At Boost we use primarily Ruby on Rails so I'm well versed in it but I also get to use many technologies - AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Contentful, LangChain, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, Angular, Ionic, and more and more and more
For my personal projects, I prefer to use Next.js and TypeScript.
I live and breathe Github, I use it for literally everything - journaling, taking notes, brainstorming, managing life admins, you name it. I was inspired by this incredible person - Simon Willison
Claude Code is my first love. I've tried Cursor, Windsurf, Devin but always find myself crawling back to Claude Code... it's kind of complicated.
Reading
- I love reading books, articles, and blogs, taking notes as I go to help process ideas and remember key insights.
- Here are some articles I've been reading recently:
TIL
- I also started recording my daily learnings, in the future I want to make a LunGPT that only answer questions based on my recorded learnings/readings, it will be a famous GPT for not knowing much.. but proudly so
- Here are some recent learnings:
My 5-9
Apart from programming, I really enjoy cooking for friends, going on trail walks, reading, learning languages. I'm learning Bahasa Melayu and Japanese, as of now I can understand and speak basic Te Reo Māori, fluent in English, Mandarin, Burmese and Yunanese.
Things I'm building
- I'm building this website! It's a work in progress, but I'm proud of it.
- I have many ideas for other projects in mind, once I'm happy with this website I'll start building them and build them in public so I'll add a button here where you can see my progress.
